05/23/2002 Entry: "3com Wireless Network Bundle"

3com Wireless Network Bundle
Just ordered this. Looks promising, Actiontec and Hawking have lower cost cards, but this is a 3Com and the info on PracticallyNetworked.com indicates battery life is better with this card than some others, Belkin was the power hog they mentioned. Note $169 is today only!

3Com Wireless LAN Access Point 2000
The 3Com Wireless LAN Access Point 2000 is a viable alternative to wired network expansions and an attractive solution for branch offices, remote sites, and classrooms. Since there's no need to drill holes or run Ethernet cabling, it's also cost-effective for temporary networks. The 3Com Wireless LAN Access Point 2000 is 3Com's most affordable and simple-to-install access point. It provides basic 802.11b wireless LAN extensions cost-effectively. An embedded HTTP web management server enables remote management of the wireless LAN segments in branch and remote offices for efficient operation and savings. Because it avoids the expense and complexity of running cables, this wireless LAN solution costs less than wired LANs. The 3Com Wireless LAN Access Point 2000 is also an attractive option for equipping a home or small office with wireless access.

3com Wireless PC Card w/XJack Antenna
Free your mobile workers and boost productivity across your company with the 3Com 11 Mbps Wireless LAN PC Card. In conjunction with the Wireless LAN access point (or any Wi-Fi certified access point), this PC Card gives your mobile workforce seamless connectivity to the network throughout the entire company. Without having to string cables or make physical connections, users can set up impromptu meetings in conference rooms, get instant network access in branch offices, or travel between offices and buildings without breaking their network connection.
