I've been trying to troubleshoot my movable type comments, and they are broken with an error:

Interesting example, I like the way he normalizes the results, this is particularly relevant for separating the background buzz from exceptional articles.
PostRank RSS Filtering
After a few days of ‘I wonder if a PostRank scheme would really work?’ , I rolled up my sleeves and put together a quick ruby application to test my theory. Here is how it works: you specify the feed URL, I parse the results, scour the Internet for information on every post in your feed, rank each post with respect to the combined score, and return the ranked results. Here is a sample run on my own feed[...]
I am struggling with Wordpress, on the one hand I want to like it, a lot, and on the other I can see performance issues on the rendering since it is PHP when compared to a static blog like Movable Type. Here are a bunch of minimalist themes for Wordpress that should cut some of the cruft out of the online experience and may perform a little better.

Andrew S Baker has been collecting some of the best link dumps for windows administration I've ever found online. Check out his 'new' blog. Glad to see he's jumped on the bandwagon.
Very well put.
(((After spending some years here in blogdom, I'm increasingly sure now that blogs are not a literary means of expression. By their nature, blogs are platforms for tech development. That is their "intrinsic advantage." Even if some blogs emit books ("blooks"), blogs are not about books. Blogs are about long tails, invisible tails, architectures of participation, commons-based peer production and crowdsourcing. Blogs by their semantic nature are aggregative mini-Internets. Even if run by theorists, blogs don't produce "theories" but "theory objects." If you don't believe me quite yet, well, just wait and see. The elephant is marching out of the haze, and soon we will see it revealed in its full, stark, hairy, mammoth proportions.)))
So I'm about ready to switch back to Yahoo Publisher Network for contextual ads.
Because although my page hits are high, and CPM has dropped -- The revenue has plummeted!
Here's an example:
Monday, March 6, 2006 $7.52
Monday, April 3, 2006 $2.69
Adsense is not something "I need" , it's nice to cover all the costs of hosting, but such a dramatic drop is disturbing.
Has anyone else using AdSense noticed a fall? I'd have thought if there were changes other people would be mentioning it.
I'm still thinking about changing to YPN, they owe me $30 bucks so I need to get to $100 for the payout.
Anyone know of a plugin for movabletype to load balance ads per post? Like say all the even posts get Google AdSense and all the Odd posts get YPN or somesuch?
circadian rhythm :: Simpler Movable Type templates
So after the upgrade to 3.2 I stayed with my old templates, partly because I couldn't get some things to work. I need to revisit this issue, but lately I've added navigation arrows on individual archive pages, and a static snapshot of the front page summaries.
I want to switch over to the new templates, and this site looks like a good place to start.
With the recent release of MT version 3.2, a lot (well, okay a couple) of the list’s members have been complaining about changes to the default templates that come with the software. In what I personally think is a very smart move (and I’m biased because I am more designer than programmer), Six Apart, MT’s parent company, decided to merge the base templates for all three of their weblog platforms (MT, TypePad and Livejournal) so that, theoretically, a designer could make one template that would work with all three platforms.
the upgrade from 2.661 to 3.2 has not been a happy one, I'm still stuck using most of the old designs for the templates because I have not had time to debug the problems on look and etc.
Now I realize the comments are broken, which I apologize for.
I switched my individual archives over to yahoo publisher ads. I'm going to leave the pages like that for a while, so far the data isn't conclusive, but I'm leaning back to adsense.
I'll update this in a few days.
I made the jump to 3.2 as well for MovableType.
I saved the data before the upgrade, and there were a number of gotchas.
Number one, if you don't have nice url permalinks, you need to change the "Individual Entry Archive" to:
<$MTEntryID pad="1"$>.html
I did not and it defaults to creating nice new permalinks based on the title. This is great exept I was rebuilding a parallel blog site I just created instead of the new layout I wanted. All the changes were showing up on the new site addresses and not the url's that were indexed by search engines.
Update: Today is Thursday, the last day I'm running ypn ads... I haven't computed the total loss, but I'm guessing close to 60% less revenue than adsense. I blame it on the weaker context sensitivity. Actual percentages posted tomorrow.
Update!
google october 7-13
yahoo october 14-20
loss revenue -40.30%
I compared revenue from the google during October 7th thru 13th, with revenue from yahoo for a similar span of time October 14-20th.
I lost 40percent of the monies I would have had as a result of running the yahoo adds.
Number one reason, they are not as contextual! I'd consider trying them again, but on a much smaller scale. This is my gadget money we're talking about!
WordPress Multiuser
Hey look an install option for multiuser wordpress setups!!! Neato.
WordPress MU is multi-user version of the famous WordPress blogging application. It is ideal for people wanting to offer a hosted version of WordPress, but due to its complexity installation and maintainance is not supported in the same manner WordPress is. (You cannot get support on the WordPress support forums.)

after wasting an inordinate amount of time on a stylesheet for ie compatibility, I'm wondering if Wordpress is the right fit for me... I am now considering switching to Movable Type 3.2 for a small site I consult on. I'm going to try munging the stylesheet back into an acceptable level of presentation. Any one else have internet explorer compatibility nightmares?
[...]experience leads me to conclude that WordPress isn't up to building a large company or organization's site. But if you maintain a personal Web site, an educational or topical site, or one for a school, church, or other small organization, using WordPress to generate all or part of your site may help you increase your feature load while reducing your workload.
