Danny Ayers, Raw Blog

Nice pointers on downgrading a debian box that may have been trashed with a dist-upgrade to unstable...

http://linuxmafia.com/faq/Debian/downgrade.html pinning is probably the best way this is from apr2005 http://nixdoc.net/files/forum/about56486.html oo, that looks helpful I've set /etc/apt/preferences to: Package: * Pin: release a=stable Pin-Priority: 1001 and then did \"apt-get dist-upgrade\" to back out of a mess. Thought it worked rather well. Good luck!

Other bits included:

apt-get -f install libperl5.8
apt-get -f install
mv /etc/dpkg/dpkg.cfg /etc/dpkg/dpkg.cfg.old
apt-get clean
