Yeah, Rails is pretty cool -- but if Hype ever had a posterchild, it would be the Rails community.
As far as other frameworks go, Cake for PHP looks interesting, but development is slow. There's Django and Subway for Python and I think I'm going to take a look at Django. And Catalyst and Maypole for Perl.
OK. that one slipped by, but the one thing I can say about Rails is it is just cool. I'm watching for other equally useful frameworks.
