iPod shuffle - 512MB of Fun
Apple - iPod shuffle
Update: I thing I'd like a case for this. Speck Products makes the
Skintight Shuffle skin. I could go with Black.

I ordered one from Denise at PCmall.com! I'll have it early next week.
Update 2:
This so completely rocks. I put 70 tracks on this unit. I use 192kbps VBR and it sounds great.
Handy tips:
- Pressing Play for three seconds puts the unit in HOLD MODE which locks the keys so you don't change the volume or track.
- While in playlist mode, pressing play three times quickly returns to the start of the playlist
Update:
Here are the pics I took of my new shuffle last night.
I am using it on debian linux with the gtkpod package.

HOWTO iPod Shuffle - Gentoo Linux Wiki
How can I tell if iPod shuffle is charging?
Eject iPod shuffle in iTunes, but leave it physically connected to the USB port. The front LED should be orange if it's charging (or green if it's fully charged). If it's not charging (such is the case if it's connected to a low-power USB port on a keyboard), you won't see a front LED.
Charging
iPod shuffle fast-charges the battery to 80-percent capacity in 2 hours. However, it can take 4 hours to fully recharge the battery.
