rebuild laser printer with replacement fuser

| | TrackBacks (0)

I have this ancient HP Laserjet 5P that has a scarred fuser roller. I thought it was dirty, but I took the printer apart and the inside was dirty, but the roller, which is covered in this teflon type coating would not clean up with alcohol and paper towels.

I've been looking online and new fuser assemblies are close to $250 depending on where you get them.

One place had a nice disassembly pictorial and even came with gloves which is a nice touch, but I think I'll retire this printer as lived it's useful life.
