If you don't have it get it -- XP has needed this patch for months.
Get the Windows XP Service Pack 2 This website has been setup by Downhill Battle - Music Activism as a demonstration of how peer-to-peer filesharing technology can help distribute files that are too large for centralized distribution to handle. Even Microsoft, which has incredible server resources at their disposal, is limiting downloads of their SP2 release, but filesharing technology can let everyone download it right away (see below). Congress is literally preparing to outlaw filesharing-- it is crucial that we rally to defend and promote the technology.

Hey,
I couldn't agree more with the with the idea of defending peer to peer file sharing. I recently had to crash my pc because of lag issues. After i reinstalled windows xp everything was fine untill i put my dsl modem drivers back on. As soon as they installed i went to update windows becuase of virused and worms but before i could get any of them installed i had already gotten a worm. The worm made in nearly impossible for me to install the updates to remove the worm. I tried for hours to get the updates. Then i got the idea to use the shutdown -a command and downloaded SP2 from a bit torrent search engine i have. IF it wasn't for peer2peer sharing my system would have never seen the internet again.
