256MB CF Upgrade and KODAK DC290 Digital Camera
KODAK: Downloads: KODAK DC290 Zoom Digital Camera
I have a DC290 digital camera, I bought a 256MB CF Compact Flash card to upgrade the 64MB I already had. My primary interest was taking uncompressed TIFF pictures. Anyway I can't get anything to save to the card, it seems to write 1KB files that are bad. I thought it was having trouble with the TIFF format but not even JPG works.
Other people have had problems with 256MB cards, and the firmaware was last updated in 2000, which I have been running the latest. This sucks, I'm going to research this some more, if I can't find an answer, it looks like I'm buying a 128MB card to test.

Hi.
I bought a 256MB CF card for my DC290.
Worked perfectly the first 2 times I used it.
Next time, files were corrupt.
Since then, Can't get camera to recognize, occasionally does, and wants to format card , but format not successful.
Card still works perfectly on my card reader.
Got a replacement card, still no go.
Just trying today a re-install of camera Firmware.
I'll see how that goes.
