AMD launches new mobile, desktop Athlon chips

In case you're wondering the processor in the new eMachines M6805 laptop looks like it is a mobile and not a crappy desktop CPU like Dell did with one of their lowend laptops. See also Linux On eMachines and the specs on eMachines home page.

Advanced Micro Devices Tuesday extended its line of Athlon 64 processors, rolling out three new mobile chips and a processor aimed at desktop PCs and desktop replacement notebooks.

The Sunnyvale, Calif., company introduced the new 3200 , 3000 and 2800 mobile chips, saying that their 64-bit processing power made them well suited for notebooks with digital media and other applications requiring added performance.
