BenQ debuts US$999 digital projector
Nice looking svga projector. The price is getting close to a mid-range large screen television. These and plasma screens will sound the death knell of CRT sets. Who wants to lug a 300 lb set when you could view a suitably large image from a DLP???

It is powered by DDR DLP chipset from Texas Instruments (TI) and is HDTV-compatible (480p, 720p and 1080i) with direct YPbPr/component (through VGA port), S-Video and composite video inputs. It weighs at 3.8 pounds and about two inches in height.

At 3.8 pounds and smaller than a sheet of paper, the PB2120 has a bright 2000:1 contrast ratio at 1,200 ANSI lumens. This SVGA digital projector has a native resolution of 800 x 600
