For ease of use this program is great, boot read the menu and after a count down timer it will wipe any attached drive, SCSI included.
I ended up leaving it running over night so can't tell exactly how long a 40 GB drive took but I would guess better than 2-3 hours! Now that is secure. Matt mentioned it recently I've used it twice, once before he linked it and once since. This came up because I had a request for Spyware removal tools, see the comprehensive PC Mag article
Spyware—It's lurking on your machine if you are not prepared to Wipe out everything. Remember verify your backups are current before proceeding with a 'nuke'.

Darik's Boot and Nuke ("DBAN") is a self-contained boot floppy that securely wipes the hard disks of most computers. DBAN will automatically and completely delete the contents of any hard disk that it can detect, which makes it an appropriate utility for bulk or emergency data destruction.

Do you mean the BIOS password? Is this on a Mac? )Of course erasing a hard drive is a drastic step. If you are having problems with a BIOS password, you won't get any where erasing the drive. If you could even boot in to it. Removing the CMOS battery which looks like a thick coin, for 10-15 minutes should be sufficiet for the cmos settins to be lost. This would include a BIOS password. If you mean something else by "fool proof" please reply.
