Doc Searls Laptop Stolen!
The Doc Searls page : Saturday, February 8, 2003
Damn. I hope Doc is able to find it, somehow.
My laptop was stolen this morning. Pretty much my whole life was on it.
I guess this would be a good time to point out that backups are important and that a laptop without a replicated datasource is a single point of failure.
rsync seems like a good place to start. There's a Rsync mirroring howto and FAQ which could be a solution for speedy synchronization of modified files.
You can listen to Andrew Tridgell talking about the creation of rsync and how to use it. Right click Save As, to download this mp3: The Rsync Algorithm from the 2000 GNU/Linux Symposium
