Samsung intros 4GB DDR module

Samsung said it has released what it claims is the first 4GB double data rate (DDR) memory module.

It's aimed at servers, workstations and supercomputers, said the firm.

The module uses chips using .10ยต (micron) process technology, said Samsung, and will perform in between 266Mbps to 333Mbps.

The chips used in the dual inline memory module (DIMM) sampled earlier, and come in X4, X8 and X16-bit configurations.

This particular module uses 36 1Gigabit DDR components, adding up to the 4GB density..
